updated their story after police found and arrested the attempted thief in a Rosemead motel.
CBS had their own mail theft stories to share, chronicling a recent spate of mailbox thefts that have been occurring across the Los Angeles area. According to reports, bystanders were able to capture video of two men systematically making their way down a residential street, one driving a slow moving vehicle while the other jogs alongside, gathering mail from mailboxes and routinely dumping them through the car’s passenger window. The thieving duo even timed their strike to follow soon after the post office’s delivery. The CBS report states that, “Mail thefts are apparently widespread in Southern California. Other communities including Riverside, West Hollywood and Corona have reported similar crimes.”
